Learning Target: I can brainstorm, design, plan, and create a mobile app.
Concepts/ Vocab this lesson: conditionals
Click through the Google Presentation embedded below. (Student Samples)
Task 2: Begin to Brainstorm/Plan Your App
Using the packet provided (click here to get a copy ), do the following steps:
Analyze: Brainstorm your own problem and idea from your home, school, or community for an app; do page 55 from packet. When you are writing your 'fuller description,' please be sure to reference and circle the three intermediate concepts you plan to include in your app. You also must plan for a minimum of FOUR screens.
Task 3: Begin to Design/Create the Algorithm for Your App
Design (Interface): Make a sketch with labelled components for your idea for an app; do page 56 from packet.
Design (Algorithm): Design the algorithm for your code for your idea for an app; do page 57 from packet.
Task 4: Begin to Create Your App
Implement: Create your app! It must have a minimum of four screens and include AT LEAST THREE INTERMEDIATE CONCEPTS from the resources listed below:
Copyright Free Images and Music (if Soundbible doesn't allow you to download: open link by clicking on the name of the sound effect>right click on wav cloud button> select 'open link in new window'>put your cursor in the url bar> click 'Enter')
Test: Test your app, give it to others to test and debug.
Task 5: Adding to your Reflection Blog
Explain one step in your Final App that includes a conditionals (lines of code that change the flow of a program based on the value of a variable or other element) and what choice you had the computer make.
Task 6: Final App Presentation: In Google Classroom, you will find a link to a class Padlet. Click there and record the following: This is a Final App Presentation. You are required to share your screen (and your face during the presentation) showing the following things while testing your app:1. Introduce the name of your app, the purpose of it, and the audience it was created for 2. Name and show the three intermediate concepts working 3. Be sure to show all four screens 4. If time, please show me the design screen (with components renamed) and your code blocks (hopefully with procedures and variables).
You may not have a completed app like you planned, but you should have a minimum of three intermediate concepts and four screens.*You will have 2 min. to record.
