My name is Tara Stanley. This is my 23rd year in Deaf Education, and I am still excited to come to work each day! I attended Texas Woman's University where I received a Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1999 and a Masters in Deaf Education in 2000. Throughout my career, I have been lucky enough to work in several areas of Deaf Education. I taught at the Regional Day School for the Deaf in Fort Worth, Texas for 8 years (kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade). I've also served Deaf/Hard of Hearing students from birth (as a Parent Infant Advisor) to age 21 while working as an itinerant for 4 years in Lewisville, Texas. My daughter (Reagan) and I moved to Colorado in 2012 (and we LOVE it! Bring on the snow!). This is my 9th year working as the elementary Centerbase DHH teacher for DCSD.
You will often hear me say "Our DHH Family." We are truly a family.. the staff, the students, and the parents. We have the great opportunity to watch our students grow from Kindergarten through 6th grade. The students encourage each other and build strong relationships. Our students are proud to be DHH and we celebrate their uniqueness daily! Each day is fun-filled and truly a gift in our classroom!
