Hi, my name is Jan Renoe, and I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. My husband, Larry and I moved to Denver in July 1989 to attend Denver Seminary. We have two grown boys, Ethan, 29, and Luke, 26, and 1 grandpup, Norma Jean!
I began learning sign language when I was a Junior in HS. After earning my AA, I went on to take college classes in ASL and attended a summer program at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) in Rochester, NY for Interpreting. My love of the language and deaf culture gave me the opportunity to interpret in schools, vocational programs, churches, theater, and the community for over 20 years with time off to be a stay at home Mom, along with a move to Cape Cod, MA, for four years.
As I begin my 8th year with DCSD, I am grateful to work with a committed and amazing group of professionals as we teach, train, and walk alongside each DHH student, preparing them for continuing education and life!
