The Challenge Program is more than just academics, it is surrounding yourself in a culture of hard work, friendships, experiential learning, getting outside of your comfort zone, and growing as an individual.
November 3 and 4 @ 5:30 pm
Information Meetings at Orchard Mesa Middle School
Challenge Program Application available at OM, from a district GT teacher, or online.
First 2 weeks in December
CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) for applicants who attend a D51 Elementary
Testing will occur at the student's elementary school
Applicant needs to notify the classroom or GT teacher
All applicants are required to take this off-level test
Specific dates and times will be determined by the elementary GT teachers
December 5, 2025
Application deadline
Must be submitted to OMMS by 4 p.m.
December 15 from 1-4 pm
CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) for middle schoolers, non-district students, or students who missed the elementary testing.
Testing will be at OMMS
An application must have been submitted
January 16, 2026
Notification letters mailed to accepted students, wait-listed students, and all other applicants
April/May
5th-grade orientation and Open House at OMMS
