Divorce & Separation

In this section are book recommendations and articles on how to navigate supporting children and your family through divorce/separation.

Two Homes- "Parents looking for a book about separation or divorce will find few offerings as positive, matter-of-fact, or child-centered as this one. . . . Simple, yet profoundly satisfying." – Booklist (starred review)

Divorce Is Not the End of the World- this is a book about divorce written FOR kids BY kids.  "An upbeat look at the ways in which, with the right support, kids of divorce can grow stronger and more able to navigate life's storms. I recommend this kid-friendly, parent-helpful resource." --M. Gary Neumann, LHMC, Helping Your Kids Cope With Divorce the Sandcastles Way

This is my personal favorite book on grief and it also can work well for providing comfort through divorce or separation, and separation anxiety as well. The Invisible String explains that people are always connected to those they love, even when they aren’t physically present, by an invisible string. Of note, the book specifically mentions heaven following a question by a character in the story.
