Meet the Teacher

Dear Parents ,

Hello and welcome to 5th grade! My name is Neva Tracy and I am so excited to get to know you and your children during the course of the school year! This is my 6th year teaching 5th grade and my 5th year working in the wonderful Cupertino School District.

A little information about me... I received my Bachelors Degree in Child and Adolescent Development as well as my teaching credential from San Jose State. I am passionate about education and am committed to creating a classroom community that helps all students achieve academic excellence by creating a safe space for students to explore, and grow.

About our class... I have high expectations for myself and my students. We are a learner focused classroom. This means that your child will collaborate with their classmates on a daily basis. We will also be focused on using a growth mindset in our class. This will help students become lifelong learners who are able to see mistakes as opportunities to grow and learn from rather than as failures. It’s important to keep communication open between us and I would love to talk you anytime should you have questions or concerns. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us!
