Private lessons are an essential part of learning to play an instrument at a high level. A private teacher spends time one-on-one with the student each week. During this time, the teacher can tailor exercises and pieces to build on the strengths and develop new skills. A good private teacher is an expert in their particular instrument and is experienced at developing students to a highly accomplished level. We have had a few students at Hyde take private lessons and they have ended being some of our strongest players and leaders in our groups. If you enjoy being in band and playing your instrument, private lessons will only enhance your experience and develop your talent to it’s highest potential.
There are many good private teachers in the area. I have listed a few below because I have had students from them before and they have a track record of developing great students. There are many other teachers that equally qualified, so let this be a starting point for your search. If you need more references, please contact me.
