Curriculum Assessments
Throughout their time at primary school, all children will take part in assessments to help support their learning. These happen at different times of the school year, and across different year groups so to help parents and carers understand the assessments we now have a dedicated page with guidance on the different checks and tests children will take part in...
✏️Curriculum Assessment Page ✏️
If you have any further questions about assessments your child may be taking part in, please do not hesitate to speak with your child's class teacher.
Secondary School Admissions
If your child is in Year 6, it is now time to apply for their Secondary School place.
You can apply for a school place at: https://www.bristol.gov.uk/residents/schools-learning-and-early-years/school-admissions/secondary-admissions/secondary-apply
Applications must be completed by Friday 31st October 2025
If you need any support in completing your application, please speak to Miss Morse in the school office.
Attendance Champions
Unfortunately none of our classes managed over 98% attendance this week - which is a real shame - but we can try again next week!
Remember, all classes have the opportunity to earn themselves a non-uniform day - all they need to do is be in school on time, every day!
Expected Attendance
We would like to remind parents that the expected attendance for all pupils is 96%.
We understand that there may be times that children are too unwell to attend, or that there may be an exceptional circumstance that prevents their attendance - however it is important to remember that once children move below 90% attendance, they are considered Persistently Absent.
Children who are persistently absent from school are closely monitored by our attendance team, and in some cases, where attendance does not improve, families can be at risk of a Penalty Notice (fine).
We would like to work with families to improve attendance, and will do everything we can to support parents to get their children into school.
If you have any concerns about your child's attendance, please speak to our attendance team.
If your child has received a Head Teachers award this week, you are welcome to join us for Celebration Assesmbly on Monday to help them celebrate as they are awarded their certificate. Please arrive at school at 2.40pm ready for assembly to start at 2.45pm

This week the children have been very crafty.
On Monday, they spray painted and sponge painted autumnal pictures. They used their growing colour mixing knowledge to mix colours to create purple, green and orange.
They created lots of fantastic autumnal pictures that have helped to decorate the nursery, their paper pumpkins are currently hanging all around the nursery, hanging from the fairy lights.
The children also used their animal knowledge to paint animal pictures in the correct colours for our Creation display. Some children used tissue paper to make fish for Day 5, others finger painted animals for Day 6. They are all starting to sequence the creation story in order of days, with some support from the creation story display that they have helped to make.
On Thursday, the children learned of Rosh Hashanah - Jewish New Year. They made sun catchers of Jewish symbols and found out that the Shofar is blown 100 times over Rosh Hashanah. They also learned about having apples and honey as part of the celebration, with a special prayer to say.
In between, the children have been listening to the story of 'Hello Autumn' and discussing the changes they see within autumn. Miss Dale showed everyone conkers and the children asked lots of questions.
The children have been playing really nicely in the past few weeks and though they may be starting to get very tired, it is not stopping their laughter, energy and imagination in their play.
Have a restful weekend,
Miss Dale and the Nursery Team
