March 15th is also the first day of 3rd trimester. Individual student schedules are available in the MiStar Student Portal. Student questions, concerns or requests for their 3rd trimester schedule should go to their counselor. March 1 - March 8
March 9th - Virtual Meeting for Parents of Freshman Hybrid Students from 5pm-6pm. A Google Meet Code will be sent to all parents of 9th grade HYBRID students.
March 15-19 - Virtual Learning for all students
On Thursday, March 18, we will be holding an in-person Freshman Orientation for only 9th graders who are HYBRID from 7:45 - 9:00am
A Freshman Orientation video will be shared with all virtual 9th grade students on or before 3/18

Student ID pictures will be taken at CHS. Individual student schedules for HYBRID students gr 10-12 will be handed out at this time

March 25-April 15: Two- Week Pause from in-person learning following Spring Break - No In-Person Learning. All classes will be held virtually during this time.
EXCEPTION -Students will take standardized tests in-person during this time (see below).

Tuesday, April 13th - SAT - Juniors only - Testing will take place IN PERSON at CHS approx. 8am - 1pm
(Grades 9, 10 & 12 will have Asynchronous Learning)
Wednesday, April 14th - ACT Work keys - Juniors only - Testing will take place IN PERSON at CHS approx. 8am - 1pm
(Grades 9, 10 & 12 will have Asynchronous Learning)
Thursday, April 15th - PSAT 10 - Sophomores only - Testing will take place IN PERSON at CHS approx. 8am - 1pm
(Grades 9, 11 & 12 will have Asynchronous Learning)
Friday, April 16th - PSAT 9 - Freshmen only - Testing will take place IN PERSON at CHS approx. 8am - 1pm

M-STEP
M-STEP will take place in April. The detailed M-STEP assessment schedule will be communicated once finalized.
AP Testing
AP testing will take place in May (possibly June) - the detailed AP testing schedule will be communicated once finalized

CHS Administration will hold 2 informative/Q&A Virtual Meetings for Parents of Hybrid Students Grades 10 - 12. These meetings will be held @ 5pm. A notification and Google Meeting Code will be sent to these parents in a separate communication.

POWER STANDARDS
All students understand the use for tools used in the classroom.
All students will explore a variety of surface decoration techniques in different cultures.
All students will demonstrate glazing procedures and the use of a color wheel in picking out colors.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In the Clay Less Ceramic 1 class students will explore ceramics without making the projectss. Students will see a variety of hand building techniques they would have used to create ceramic projects. Students will learn various ways they would have used to add texture and decoration to their projects. They will explore line design in pots from various cultures who used coils and carving. Students will learn about glazing, clay trademarks, and the history of ceramics in different cultures. The class fulfills .5 credit of the fine arts requirement.

YOU WILL GET ONE GRADE FOR THE FIRST 6 WEEKS, AFTER THAT TIME I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OF THOSE ASSIGNMENTS.
YOU WILL GET A SECOND GRADE FOR THE NEXT 6 WEEKS AND i WILL AVERAGE THE TWO GRADES FOR THE 12 WEEK GRADE.
THERE WILL USUALLY BE TWO ASSIGNMENTS PER WEEK AND WEDNESDAY SKETCHES
EMAILS WILL BE ANSWERED AS SOON AS I CAN GET TO THEM BUT USUALLY THAT DAY.
GIVE ME AT LEAST 24 HOURS TO GET ASSIGNMENTS GRADED AND INTO MISTAR.

If a student logs into the class meet, it counts as ‘present’
If a student sends you an email, it counts as present
If a student calls you, it counts as ‘present’
If a student completes an assignment for that day, it counts as present
