Educational Mission
To educate the next generation of bioinformaticians who have a strong understanding of both computational and biological principles and concepts, and who apply their knowledge in a principled and ethical manner.
Research Mission
To develop new computational approaches and methods for analyzing biological data, with particular emphasis on metagenomic data and application areas of societal relevance.
Vision
All members of the Pop lab will become effective independent researchers, whether in academia, industry, or any other career they pursue. Our work will advance metagenomics research and will have a strong scientific and societal impact.
