Webex Best Practices

1. Schedule meetings for students rather than using your personal room.
2. Adjust the Preferences (Privileges) for Chat in Webex. Students should not be able to chat privately with each other or the presenter.
3. Maintain meeting security and safety by posting Webex meeting links on Seesaw or Google Classroom; refrain from posting your Webex Meeting links on your website.
4. Webex does have a recording feature. Meetings with students should not be recorded and shared without following FERPA Guidelines.
5. Always “end meeting” when you are done - don’t just leave the meeting. We do not want students left unsupervised in a Webex meeting.
6. Webex meetings are live so be aware of your setting and your students. Be mindful of requiring students to show their home surroundings.
