PE Dress Code and Course Materials:
Proper PE attire includes: sneakers; T-shirt and shorts or sweatpants; sweatshirts or jacket when needed.
No denim shorts or pants; short shorts; skirts or dresses; tank tops or underwear worn as outerwear ; work boots, crocs, uggs, slides, flip flops, slippers or dress shoes.
Appropriate classroom materials for Health and CPR/First Aid include pen, pencil, notebook, and folder.
Locks and Lockers:
PE Lockers are available to all students and they will be required to rent a PE lock for $5.00 at the start of the semester. No personal locks will be permitted. Students must lock their valuables, especially Chrome Books, phones, wallets, etc in their locker during PE class. We are not responsible for any items left unlocked in the locker room.

Student Assessment Criteria and Rubric:
Each PE/Health class is worth 5 points which will be totaled at the end of the quarter for an attendance, effort, and participation grade (NASPE Standards 4 & 5). Classes are divided into a warm-up activity, fitness development activity, and PE/Health activity.
All students will be given one Applied Learning Task during the semester, worth 10% of their PE/Health grade. The Fitness Assessment is given at the start of the semester and measures upper body strength, abdominal strength, and cardio-respiratory endurance (NASPE Standard 3). In addition to the above assessments, students will also be given Activity-Specific Assessments as well as a Final Exam (NASPE Standard 1). The final exam is worth 20% of the final grade.
PE Make-Ups and Medicals:
Classes missed for any reason (appointments, illness, vacation, etc.) need to be made up within 10 school days of the absence. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with the teacher to make up the class. Several options are available. Non-changers will NOT be allowed to participate and will not be able to make-up lost credit.
Students who are unable to participate in PE for a medical condition must produce a written note from a physician to be excused from class. Short term medicals should be made-up within two weeks of returning to school. Long term medicals should be made up within a time period agreed upon by the student and teacher. Make-up assignments are available on individual teachers google classroom pages.
