Year 1 ALT: Physical Fitness
Description: Students will demonstrate the behaviors and actions of responsible individuals by making healthy choices.
Performance Indicator: Demonstrate choices that promote physical and emotional well-being
This applied learning task is designed not only to provide the opportunity for students to identify their current physical fitness level but also to extend their knowledge of fitness-related concepts and principles and improve their understanding of the relationship between fitness-enhancing behaviors and performance on fitness-related activities and assessments. Students will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating a Personal Plan for Wellness (PPW) based on personal fitness needs, goals, and interests. Students will be required to reflect on their experiences throughout the semester to demonstrate their understanding of the importance of making responsible, positive self-care practices.

Reflective Learner: Students will demonstrate reflection and evaluation through goal setting, self-assessment, and feedback, monitoring their progress toward goals and adjusting their strategies to account for individual strengths and challenges.
Performance Indicator: Identify goals and describe why they are realistic. Identify action steps to reach those goals. Uses action steps and explores opportunities through experience.
