The Physical Education, Health & Wellness Department offers fitness-focused activities and experiences that develop and improve health-related fitness, including body composition, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and coordination.
Students in all grade levels can select from a wide range of activities from five significant areas: strength conditioning and cardiovascular fitness, individual and team sports, yoga and mindfulness, recreational sports and games, and CPR/First Aid training.
Our students are also exposed to healthy lifestyle information covering a wide range of topics, including mental health, decision-making, goal setting, diet and exercise, communication skills, relationships, disease prevention, and sexuality.
Students will engage in activities to develop their ability to access good health information and available resources to become more responsible for their health and well-being.
Reflecting the importance of regular physical education and health instruction in our student’s educational experience, students must complete four years (2 credits) of physical education/health to graduate from Coventry High School.
