Welcome to NSF-supported summer research programs at Coe College. We look forward to meeting people from across the country who will participate in our nationally recognized undergraduate research program.
Look under "Mentors and Projects" for this summer's planned research projects.
The program is funded by the National Science Foundation with additional support provided by Coe College. The research program is expected to begin approximately June 9 and conclude August 8, 2025. A stipend in the amount of $5,092 is awarded to all participating students. Free on-campus housing will be provided by Coe College, and travel funds are available to assist with moving expenses.
A variety of exciting research projects and the biographical sketches of participating faculty are described in Mentors and Projects. All students interested in the research experience at Coe College are encouraged to apply. An additional goal of our program is to provide a research experience for students from institutions where opportunities are limited, first-generation college students, and students from other under-represented groups.
Government eligibility requirements stipulate that participants be citizens or permanent residents of the US.
The Coe College NSF RET program brings secondary education science teachers to campus for a research experience in one of the laboratory sciences. Participants have the opportunity to choose from the selection of projects in the REU program, attend weekly lectures, and use advanced instrumentation. A stipend of $9,000 will be paid to each teacher for the research term of June 9 - July 25. Additional funds are available to help support travel to a scientific conference and present research findings. Coe College will provide housing for teachers who cannot commute to the campus.
For full consideration, the application should be submitted before midnight, Feb 22. To apply:
complete the online application form;
send an official or unofficial transcript to the REU Program Coordinator;
