Post announcements

  1. From the Google Classroom homepage you will see a class card for each Classroom you are a teacher or student on, select the class title to open your Classroom.
  2. Your Classroom will open in your Stream where you can post announcements.
  3. Hover over the + icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen, then select Create announcement.

By default your announcement will go to the Classroom you are currently in. If you want to post your announcement in more than one Classroom, you can.

By default your announcement will go to all students currently enrolled in your Classroom. If you want to post your announcement to certain students only, you can.

Share with your class - write something

Topic - creating topics for your posts allows students to find them easier in your Classroom Stream

Add attachments...

  1. attach file from your device
  2. attach file from your Google Drive
  3. attach YouTube video
  4. attach a weblink

When you're ready to post your announcement, you can either

  1. Post it straight away - your announcement will be displayed at the top of your Classroom Stream.
  2. select the drop-down arrow and Save your post (saved posts will be stored in a folder at the top of your Classroom Stream that only teachers can see).
  3. select the drop-down arrow and Schedule your post - selecting a date and time when your announcement will be automatically posted in your Classroom Stream. (scheduled posts will be stored in a folder at the top of your Classroom Stream that only teachers can see).
