Kindergarten

KINDERGARTEN MUSIC

Students in Kindergarten will come to music for 30 minutes twice per week.  Our main focus is to learn how to sing with our singing voice throughout the year. We will also learn beat and rhythm through singing, listening, movements, and games.  We will use music to celebrate the liturgical and school events of the year.  We will explore and respect music from other cultures and historical periods, particularly aboriginal music.

Evaluation:

Objective evaluation of knowledge and subjective evaluation of participation and performance will be based on the following progress levels:

•  Extending (EXT) - exceptional conceptional understanding

•  Proficient (PRF) - conceptual understanding (Proficient is the goal of your child)

•  Developing (DEV) - partial understanding

• Emerging (EMG) - limited understanding
