GRADE FOUR MUSIC
In the Grade Four Music Program, students will meet twice weekly for two 30-minute music classes. We will use standard notation to represent rhythmic and melodic patterns. We will enjoy making music through singing, listening, games, and recorder skills. We will behave responsibly as performers and audience. We will use music to celebrate the liturgical and school events of the year. We will explore and respect music from other cultures and historical periods, particularly aboriginal music.
Intermediate Choir
Students beginning in grade 4 are welcome to join the school's intermediate choir as an extra-curricular activity. Choir rehearsals are held outside of class time. Please check the intermediate choir website for details.
Evaluation:
Evaluation will be based on participation, work habit/attitude, and in-class playing tests on the following progress levels:
Extending (EXT) - exceptional conceptional understanding
Proficient (PRF) - conceptual understanding (Proficient is the goal of your child)
Developing (DEV) - partial understanding
Emerging (EMG) - limited understanding
