GRADE THREE MUSIC
Students in Grades 2 and 3 will come to music for 30 minutes twice per week. We will learn beat, rhythmic and melodic notations through singing, listening, writing, movements, and games. We will use music to celebrate the liturgical and school events of the year. We will explore and respect music from other cultures and historical periods, particularly Indigenous music.
Primary Choir
Students in grades 2 and 3 are welcome to join the school's primary choir as an extra-curricular activity. Choir rehearsals are held outside of class time. Please check the primary choir website for details.
Evaluation:
Objective evaluation of knowledge and subjective evaluation of participation and performance will be based on the following progress levels:
Extending (EXT) - exceptional conceptional understanding
Proficient (PRF) - conceptual understanding (Proficient is the goal of your child)
Developing (DEV) - partial understanding
Emerging (EMG) - limited understanding
