Global Ed travel programs 2023 - Funded!

• The Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship (AEF) - Provides an opportunity for accomplished K-12 educators in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to serve in the national education arena. Application deadline Nov 17, 2022.

• Earthwatch Teach Earth Fellowships - Embeds teachers with world-class scientists on active research expeditions. Application deadline January 13, 2023.

• Fulbright Programs - U.S. Department of State. Applications for 2023-2024 are now open. Application deadline February 20, 2023.

  • Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Research Program

  • Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Short-Term Program (DAST) - A wide range of disciplines are represented, including STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), English language learning, humanities, art, business, and special education.

  • Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program (TGC)

• Fulbright-Hayes Seminars Abroad Projects - U.S. Department of Education. 2023-2024 program for elementary (grades K-8) teachers or administrators: Jordan. Secondary (grades 9-12) teachers or administrators: Argentina & Brazil. Application deadline February 9, 2023.

• Go Global NC - Global Teachers - Summer 2023 program will be in Chile, teachers in Triangle area funded by Triangle Community Foundation's Borchardt Award. Application deadline January 10, 2023.

• Goethe Institute Transatlantic Outreach Program (TOP) - Offers summer programs in Germany for German Language, Social Studies, and STEM. Application deadline February 6, 2022.

• National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Programs - Tuition-free programs at various U.S. locations. Watch the website for announcement of summer 2023 programs.

• National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellows - 2023 Fellowship application deadline January 7, 2023.

• UNC Center for European Studies Brussels-Lux Study Tour. Monitor the website for announcement of 2023 program.

Fund for Teachers Fellowships - $5,000 individual or $10,000 team. Application deadline January 19, 2023.

McCarthey Dressman Teacher Development Grants - Up $10,000/year for 3-year project. Application deadline April 15, 2023.

NEA Learning & Leadership Grants - for NEA members, $2,000-$5,000. Application deadline February 1, 2023.

National Geographic Society Waitt Grants - $5,000 to $15,000. Application deadline April 12, 2023.

• Earth Expeditions Field Courses - Conservation studies through Miami University of Ohio include summer study abroad experience followed by a 2-credit fall semester online course. Registration now open for summer 2023 courses. Click the "I'm interested" button to learn more.

• GEEO (Global Exploration for Educators Organization) - Guided group tours for educators at discounted rates. Non-educator guests can accompany an educator participant. So many destinations! Rolling applications and travel dates.

• Global Education Allies - Summer 2023 programs will be East Africa: Rwanda & Uganda and Singapore & Southeast Asia, as well as the Finland, Sweden & the Baltics that is offered every year. Applications now open. Priority deadline January 1, 2023; final deadline (if spaces still available) March 1, 2023.

• The English-Speaking Union TLab - Summer courses on Shakespeare, theater, literature, and European politics in various locations in England and Scotland. Scholarships available for some courses. Applications are now open, deadlines TBA.
