Our class's assignment was to raster the design we had created for the vinyl cutter onto a leather keychain.
Not much was needed to design because, as stated before, I used my vinyl cut design. Also, because the design file was already in google drive, it was easy to send to the laser cutter. I changed the preferences from "Vector" to "Raster", selected "Bottom Up" (in the picture to the left, it says "top-down", but when engraving, it was on bottom-up), so it would print in the correct direction, and clicked print. I repeated this process twice, however both times the laser cutter engraved the cactus in a funky way. Because I did not have enough time nor did I want to waste another keychain, I did not re-raster for a third time.
As shown (link), the design engraved slanted to the left on the right side. At first, I believed it was because the keychain kept moving, but after rastering for the second time with it taped down, I understood that the movement of the keychain was not the issue. I am still not certain on what the problem was, but in the future I will figure it out.
