We are creating an app called SPARC to improve speech for people with Down Syndrome. SPARC stands for Speech. Pronunciation, Articulation, and Communication. Children with Down Syndrome often leave out prepositions in their sentences. Our app will insert the words they are missing by an educated guess using Natural Language Processing (NLP). The app will also use music therapy to help enhance pronunciation in a productive way. An example that is often used is play lines verse music lyrics. A person could easily memorize song lyrics rather than a script.

In order to make sure that our target, speech, was a main, but unsolved issue, we arranged interviews with the parents and guardians of children with down syndrome.
