Instead of creating a very complicated project, I picked a relatively simple project and learned how to use all sorts of different machinery to accomplish other stuff. This made the most difficult part of my project the learning. Learning how to use the shop bot and the other mill proved to be quite a challenge. I assisted Alexis with her box, and it was a lot of work. I had to come in early and stay during lunch periods and a few times after school. The learning curve I had was when we had to learn about why the shop bot kept giving error messages and figuring out why it would do that.
My least favorite part of my personal project and all of the different mini projects I did this semester was watching the shop bot and othermill cut, because I would have to stay and watch them cut. I didn't like that because of the stress of what happens if something goes wrong.
My favorite part of the whole project was the surface soldering. I liked learning how to do that and the amount of detail needed to surface solder. I also liked soldering in general and wish that my project had needed more soldering.
From this semester/quarter I learned about the importance of learning different machines and understanding that it is possible to break circuit boards.
