Writing

Writing workshop consist of a 45 minute block of writing in our daily schedule where students practice writing a small moment story independently after given specific mini lessons. This year we will also write nonfiction books and "how-to" books as well. In First Grade we focus on six main areas of writing which include; word choice, sentence fluency, conventions, ideas, organization and voice. The students are graded on the district rubric below.
