Phonics

Each week we will be studying a phonics/spelling rule in class. We will look at lots of words that follow the rule for the week. We will practice using the rule to spell words correctly in isolation and in sentences. Students will be expected to apply these phonics/spelling rules in their writing during writer's workshop.

The phonics/spelling rule for the week will be included in the weekly newsletter in case you would like to have your child practice spelling words that follow that rule at home.
