2024 DANCE AUDITION INFORMATION

Audition Interview Date: January 20, 2024 -OR- February 3, 2024

Times: 10:00am-12:00pm

The Specialty Center will send out information on registering for audition days via email once the general application process is completed. Dancers will only need to choose one of the dates listed above.  Please make sure your contact information, especially your email address, is up to date with Chesterfield County Public Schools so that you receive scheduling information in a timely manner.

The audition will include a ballet barre, a modern/improvisational center, and will finish with a choreography sequence for students to learn and perform in small groups. Students do not need to prepare any choreography ahead of time.

All dancers should:

• wear leotards and tights (girls) or close-fitting T-shirts with shorts or tights (boys). 

• be prepared to dance barefoot as well as in ballet shoes (convertible tights). Pointe shoes will not be necessary. 

• secure hair away from the face

On the day of the audition:

• provide a resume style summary of your training; studios you've attended, teachers you've worked with, intensive, competition, convention or camp experiences, etc. 

• provide headshot or photograph which clearly shows your face

• be prepared to answer questions regarding interest and motivation in dance at the Specialty Center for Arts.
