Our authentication system is Duo. You are enrolled when your account is created.
We support four methods of access:
Push notifications to the Duo mobile app on Android or Apple smart phones and tablets. The is the recommended method and should work for most people.
Text notifications to any phone with a texting plan.
We have a small number of hardware tokens that generate a passcode with a button push.
For unusual situations where a phone or token won't work, a one-time code can be provided by a system administrator.
On an iPhone, launch the App Store, or on an iPad, tap iPhone Apps at the top of the screen. You need iOS version 7 or higher.
Search for "Duo Mobile."
Tap Get and then Install to download the app.
Make sure you allow notifications and camera access.
Open Google Play. You need to have a personal Gmail account associated with your device and you need Android version 4 or higher. The App is free so you don't need an associated credit card.
Search for "Duo Mobile."
Tap Install to download the app.
Make sure you allow notifications and camera access.
Once the app is installed open the link in your enrollment email.
1. Select mobile phone or tablet as the device type
2. Enter your phone number to identify your device.
3. Confirm you have the app installed and follow the prompt to open the app.
4. A QR code is displayed. Scan this with your phone from within the Duo app to add your account. If you opened your activation link on your phone you will skip this step.
5. You will see a confirmation screen. SSH and VPN logins will ask you for your authentication method every time so changing the "when I log in" setting from the default has no effect.
When logging in select the duo push option and a notification is presented by the Duo app. The notification shows your account and the IP address you are coming from and connecting to.
