School counselors play a unique role in the high school setting as advocates for all students. Canton school counselors support students by working collaboratively to help them discover and assess individual talents, to reflect on successes and approach challenges with confidence, to self-advocate, and ultimately, to develop a post high school plan aligned with their goals. Counselors support student's pursuit of traditional university, skilled career, and military endeavors, and work throughout the high school years to help them develop their plan. Counselors also serve as the first step toward other support personnel should a need arise. Students are assigned to a counselor by alphabet remain with their counselor for all four years.
