LEAP (Positive Behavior Intervention System - PBIS)

• • L = leadership (set a good example)

  • E = empathy (show that you care)

  • A = accountability (make good choices)

  • P = pride (be proud of you and our school)

  • One student LEAP ticket is chosen by a 5th grader every Friday and that child gets a LEAP prize.

Heart Jar

• • Students and teachers can "catch" others being kind and helpful and give them a kindness heart.

  • We tell the person why we are giving them a heart by telling them explicitly how they were kind and helpful to us.

  • When we have filled our Heart Jar, we have a kindness celebration!

2 snacks a day from home - label with child's first and last names

• • morning snack and recess 

  • afternoon snack and choice/recess

Cold lunch and snack - please pack separately and label with first and last name

• • lunches from home (cold lunch) are carried to the Café

  • snacks are kept in our learning space/classroom in backpacks or cubbies

Basic Rules of the Playground - TO BE FOLLOWED BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER SCHOOL by KIDS and GROWN UPS

• • Swinging: sit on bottoms while holding on with 2 hands

  • Sliding: one person on the slide at a time, sit on bottoms, feet first

  • Wood Chips and Sticks: keep on the ground to use as building materials

  • Be Safe: think about your own and friends' bodies and feelings and play in safe ways

  • Equipment: if you bring toys outside to play with, it is your responsibility to bring them back inside
