What is Schoology

Schoology is a Learning Management System or LMS. A convenient place for students to quickly and easily find many aspects of their courses. An LMS can act not only as a storehouse for course information but can enable online discussions, submission of homework, links to websites and other educational online applications. Schoology also integrates with Google Drive and allows students to upload video & audio submissions.

Schoology is also a place that communications with the whole school community can be shared. Communication can also be tailored to specific groups who share common interests. Students will be part of their Divisional Year Group (e.g. Year 10 North) and may choose to join groups for extra-curricular activities.

The Calendar feature in Schoology contains important events and deadlines, tailored to each student. Events are either added by the teacher to a whole class or group, or can be added by the student themselves.

Many colleges and universities use a similar LMS for courses, so learning how to use Schoology will provide students with good skills for the future. If they struggle to use any aspect of Schoology they are able to seek the support they need to enable them to use the system.
