Jeffery Mastin: Jeff earned his B.M. (with honors) and M.A.T. from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA in 1999 and 2000, respectively. He was the Instrumental Music Teacher and the Band Director at BTHS from September of 2002 through June of 2011, after previously teaching Elementary Band in the Brick Township Public Schools. At BTHS he directed the Concert, Jazz and Marching Bands and taught three levels of Music Theory, Jazz Improvisation, String Orchestra, Music Composition and Rhythm Workshop classes. Jeff is very excited about "returning to his roots" as he fulfills his role of Instrumental Music teacher and Band Director at Fountain Woods School. Jeff has been teaching saxophone privately since he was in High School, and has performed with the Midnight Sun Orchestra, the Bobby Syvarth Combo, Kevin Kelton’s Big Band, and other regional ensembles.
Jeff successfully completed the NJ EXCEL Program in the Spring of 2009. By passing the SLLA & the SSA while completing the NJ EXCEL program, he earned his Supervisor Certificate and Certificates of Eligibility for Principal and School Administrator. In June and July of 2010 Jeff studied arranging with Dr. Quincy C. Hilliard, Professor at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.
