Patton Fire Academy
The Fire Academy was established in 2015. The students will take a total of 21 different subjects during the three semesters. If the student passes all of the subjects then he/she is only two classes away from being a certified firefighter in North Carolina. I encourage the students to not only look at firefighting as a career but look at volunteering in their community as a volunteer firefighter.
The Fire Academy will be putting together a Honor Guard Team to present the flags during football games, homecoming parade, Burke County Firefighters Association Meeting, and any other school event that we are needed in.
Also, I would like to take a few students to the Skills USA competition in Greensboro in the Spring. We would meet after school to practice for this event.
Our meeting times will vary through out the school year.
