Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) education association, preparing students for careers in business and business-related fields.
The concept of FBLA was first developed in 1937 by Dr. Hamden L. Forkner of Columbia University. The very first chapter started in 1942 at Johnson City Tennessee.
FBLA today now has over 215,000 members and 11,000 advisors in the program.
FBLA's main goals are to develop competent, aggressive business leadership, strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work, create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise, and encourage and practice efficient money management.
