Duriel Hardy
In the summer of 2009, Duriel Hardy ’10 (current beneficiary of the Class of ’62 scholarship) worked in Stanford University Medical School’s biomedical informatics laboratory, where he helped to evaluate and compare neuro-developmental disorders in humans and mice. Duriel also was captain of the cross country and track and field teams at Brown. In a letter directed to the Class of '62, he recently wrote: "Being a student-athlete at such a distinguished university has influenced my life in ways that I could not have imagined. I really learned the value of hard work, dedication, and commitment through athletics… I am so thankful and appreciative of your dedication and generosity. Without you, my education would not be possible. I am truly blessed to be able to study here. Thank you so much!" After graduation, Duriel plans to enrol in medical school.
