Brooklyn Prospect's musical theatre curriculum provides students opportunities to explore how as performing artists, we can give voice to the ideas most important to our communities. Students gain the skills and vocabulary to read and evaluate performance and have opportunities to share their work with peers and to perform for the school community.
Students study fundamentals of acting with an emphasis on voice and movement, gaining the confidence to perform on stage and to pursue continued study. Courses focus largely on ensemble work, giving students opportunities to develop their acting and critical thinking skills in a collaborative environment. Students deepen their craft through character and scene work.
