Option #2: To complete the enrollment form via PDF format, please complete the DYCD Intake Packet attached below.

If you have more than one child, please complete a packet for each individual child.
Step #2: Sign up for our First Semester SY 25-26 Enrichment Clubs with your student! We encourage you to complete this with your student so they know what to expect in offerings this season. This form will close on Wednesday, September 10th. Finalized individual schedules will be released on Monday, September 15th, and continue on a rolling basis if submitted after this date.
In addition to the required student documentation, please read through our Community agreement form. Students will receive a hard copy during advisor conferences and may return on the first day of after-school.
We look forward to welcoming your child to our after-school family!
How long does ASP run?
September 8, 2024 - June 18, 2025.
Does the after-school program cost anything?
No. All programming is free of charge.
How often do after-school clubs/activities meet and at what times?
Clubs/activities meet from 3:40 PM-6:00 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 2:00 PM- 6:00 PM on Wednesdays.
Will there be more clubs/activities added to the schedule?
Absolutely! Based on student enrollment and parent feedback we will be adding new clubs seasonally.
What if the activity is new to my student?
Your student may join any club regardless of prior experience or skill level. Clubs are designed to include all middle school students. Please note, we will encourage all students to participate in activities that may be new to them.
Are phones allowed in ASP?
No, ASP aligns with the school day in that phone usage is prohibited. We encourage all families to keep in contact with our NEW Afterschool Phone Number 347-416-6878 Ext. 5304 and continued Email Address: dtmsafterschool@brooklynprospect.org
What if I need to get in contact with my child while they're in ASP?
Please call the ASP office 347-416-6878 Ext. 5304 and we will connect you to your student.
What if my student has to leave early from ASP?
Please know the expectation of all students is to participate in ASP until dismissal. If your child has an appointment, prior engagement or there is an emergency, an early dismissal can be arranged by emailing dtmsafterschool@brooklynprospect.org on the day of no later than 5:30 PM. Please note the cut-off time to pick your child up early is 5:45 PM to ensure program fulfillment and a smooth dismissal by 6:00 PM.
*If you arrive to the building to pick your student up early and have not emailed us a notice of change in dismissal, please know you may experience a wait time as your student has to be located, informed and close-out from their activity.
*If you have arrived after the early pick-up cut-off time, you will have to wait until dismissal to receive your student.
Is my student required to attend every session?
No and*. Your child can participate for as many or as few days as they would like. Note: Some clubs will be preparing for final projects and culminating events so if a student does not attend consistently they may not be up-to-date on the activity and may not be included in the project or event. *If your child does not participate in their scheduled activities for two weeks, they will be unenrolled in activities and we will move to the the next waitlisted participant.
Can my student participate in ASP Sample Week if we're unsure if we want to apply?
Unfortunately, we cannot have students who do not have an application on file to participate in programming, due to the expectations of our grant.
How does the Activity Enrollment work?
Every trimester, we will send our session specific activity enrollment Google Forms. It's best to complete this form as soon as it's out, some classes will fill up quickly. If a student does not get their 1st choice, we will put them in their next choice, and so on.
Should I complete the Activity Enrollment for my child?
We understand some of our offerings excite YOU as the parent/guardian. You really want your child(ren) to participate in the (ex.)Drama Club! In our experience, students will come to us with "I don't want to participate in Drama Club! My (insert parent/guardian) picked that! Please change my class!" We humbly ask that you complete the activity enrollment form WITH your child(ren) to avoid any middle school activity angst.
What if my student wants to change their activity?
We provide a sample week each season, so that kiddos can have an opportunity test out the activities. After the sample programming week, students have one last opportunity to make a change. After that, they will participate in that activity until the end of the trimester.
How can I stay up-to-date?
We will include all program related information in the DTMS Family Weekly Update and/or send an After School Program Family Update. We may also send updates home with your student(s).
What if my student only participates in sports? Are they still considered part of the after-school program?
Yes, all athletics at our school are managed by our after-school program. All student athletes must submit a DYCD enrollment packet and community agreement to participate. Student athletes are held to the same level of accountability as all other after-school students.

Daily Operations Protocol Reminder
For ASP Arrival, all students attending afterschool are required to transition directly to the commons following school dismissal (M/T/Th/F 3:40, W 2:00). All students are provided with NYC School Foods snacks daily, with a 10 minute window to arrive, during this time are allowed to use their devices to check in with families. Following snack time, students transition to enrichment activities, and devices are away or placed in a bin and redistributed at dismissal time. Please note if a student breaches this agreement, the following occurs:
If a student exits the building after dismissal, they will not be allowed re-entry into the school building and afterschool programming.
If a student has a pick-up only dismissal plan, we will contact the guardian and have the student wait in the ASP office until their guardian arrives.
If a student has a self-dismissal plan, a guardian will be notified via email and that student will be sent home immediately.
All students not following this expectation cannot participate in any extended day activities on that particular day and will be subject to removal from the program if the behavior continues.
ASP Dismissal starts at 6 PM at the Front Entrance on 80 Willoughby Street. A student may not leave earlier than regular dismissal time unless we've received communication from a guardian via email. ALL UPDATES TO STUDENT ATTENDANCE MUST BE COMMUNICATED TO ASP VIA EMAIL dtmsafterschool@brooklynprospect.org.
Study Hall Period: On Wednesdays from 2:20-3:50pm, students will have study hall. This time provides students with time to complete school-related independent work before starting ASP activities on these days. Our student-athletes are required to attend a study hall period if their practice or game falls on a Wednesday, or if they need to improve grades for good standing.
Early Dismissal Policy
If you're picking up your child early or they need to self-dismiss early for an emergency, please email dtmsafterschool@brooklynprospect.org or call us: 347-416-6878 Ext: 5304. Early dismissal/pick-up will stop at 5:45 PM, and families will have to wait until 6pm. If your child is signed up for ASP, please try to have them stay for the duration of their club/activity. We understand there are emergency early pick-ups (before 5:45 p.m.), but please refrain from picking up your child the first hour of the program unless an emergency occurs. Students will not be able to receive the full lesson or learn the content if they are leaving early every day. We are also not a late pickup/child care option, we want our students to stay the full duration of the program! Thank you for understanding.
