Hi - I'm Gina D'Ath - the Gateway Coordinator at Bream Bay College.

I run the Gateway Work Experience Programme here and my goal is work alongside every motivated senior student in our school, so that they have had the chance to experience one or more different jobs while they are still here at school.   I want them to see if that career is 'really' what they want to do before they commit to leaving school and doing it!  

As part of the Gateway programme, I will organise courses such as Workplace First Aid, Hazard ID and Job Safety Analysis courses along with more specific training courses such as Barista, Automotive Engine Principles etc.  All of these courses provide extra credits towards the students NCEA and will give them a head start and a 'foot in the door' above other job applicants in the future!
