1. Locate the SID of the user – run in CMD - wmic useraccount get name,sid
2. Open the registry editor, locate the key - “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\SID –xxxxxxxxx (sid of the user affected)
3. Backup that key – export the key SID –xxxxxxxxx (sid of the user affected)
4. Delete the key - SID –xxxxxxxxx (sid of the user affected)
5. Rename and move user’s profile from C:\Users\(user affected)
6. Advise user to log on and check it is resolved
