Project Description - create a personal prayer world wide mission map highlighting specific prayer requests. For each location, in the description field, list the specific prayer request(s). Also copy and paste the URL link of the website that you got your information. If possible include a picture. Choose as many locations as possible. Introduction to the BMS ArcGIS website

    1. Login information for the first time you log into this website :

    2. username is your username followed by the letters gis..... example rgz18gis

    3. password is bmsgis2015 - you will be asked to change it and you are to change it to your password that you use for your network and BMS Cloud accounts. Also you will be asked to set a security question, go ahead and choose any of them.

    4. Next click on Map in the menubar at the top of the screen and complete the first tutorial by clicking on "Start Tour" under "Learn to Make a Map"

    5. Click on Gallery in the menubar at the top of the screen and look at the maps that have been created.

    6. Create a map using one of the "Living Atlas Layers" accessible through the "Add" button (Example)- thanks to William!

    7. Go to this map that I’ve created which shows the Median Age of the population. Notice that as you scroll in, the map becomes more refined down to what is called the Block Group. If you zoom out a bit, you will see the map according to the Tract Group. These are US Census terms that are connected with data gathered from the US Census. (In size from largest to smallest: tracts, block groups, blocks)

    8. Explore Zillow, a company that has been built on the information gathered by the US Census Bureau. Watch this video first. Zillow gets its data from the US Census - American FactFinder - enter your zip code and find the info that is available for your zip code.

You can choose to display 3D content within two different scene environments: a global scene or a local scene. Show me how.

2. Switch basemap

A basemap provides a background of geographical context for the content you want to display in a scene. When you create a new scene, you choose which basemap you want to use from the collection in the basemap gallery. Show me how.

3. Add layers

Layers are the contents of your story. They can include topics related to people, the earth, life, and imagery. You can add your own layers and layers shared by others. Show me how.
