WHY I AM THE COLLECTOR

REASON ONE:

I am a huge fan of the CHARLIE PARKER SERIES, having been totally hooked from when I first read THE KILLING KIND back in late 2001. I have to admit that I hadn't read any of John's work prior to my wife bringing a review of that book to my attention. After that I had to go back to the start of the Charlie Parker story in EVERY DEAD THING. The rest, as they say, is history.

REASON TWO:

John is a very approachable and amenable guy. He tours (seemingly always) and he never fails to make time for people on those tours, even when his time is short. He's always had time to sign the piles of books and miscellaneous oddities I bring along to various venues around the UK. A great deal of respect to you, Mr. Connolly!

REASON THREE:

Maine in the USA is one of my favourite places. Having spent my adolescence and beyond experiencing Stephen King's Maine settings, I'd always wanted to visit. Since then I've had the good fortune to do that twice - a fantastic road-trip from Boston to Bar Harbor (via Vermont) back in 2002, and a similar trip in 2009 (taking in a Boston Red Sox winning game at Fenway Park in the process) - and there are always plans to go back there again. John always manages to transport me back there - I still get goosebumps when I read John's vision of places I'm familiar with.

These are the three reasons (of many more) why I am THE COLLECTOR.
