The Wednesday Group is a supportive accountability designed to help writers of long projects, such as dissertations, theses, articles and books maintain the motivation to complete their work.
The Wednesday Group Summer Session runs from June 4, 2025 to July 30th 2025.
Session begin at 7:00 PM and end by 8:30 PM.
Not everyone who must produce articles, books or essays considers themselves a "writer". Yet, people who think of themselves as writers and people who simply understand they must write share the same anxieties and concerns. This site collects tools and strategies meant to help writers become more capable and efficient. The tools and resources provided here not meant be exhaustive or conclusive. They are based on a set of principles that are meant to provide the basis for a flexible, adaptable practice that meet the needs of writers and creative workers who produce theri work within the context of everyday life: family, health, work, and everyday obstacles. Try, see what works, keep what does. Together, we practice what the psychologist Robert Boice referred to as "constancy and motivation". I urge participants to attend whether they have completed their week's goals or not: to come to the group is an achievement itself. I also urge participants to form "write on site" groups of their own: pairs or groups that meet in person or in zoom to reinforce our common motivation to succeed at what we have chose as our goals.
