ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Hello all. It's that time again! The start of a brand new marching band season! Our first Summer band rehearsal is Wednesday, July 15. In case you forgot or lost the Summer Band schedule, here's the link to all of the Summer info you would need prior to the start of school.

2026-2027 Summer Band and Orchestra information

Here's a few reminders for a successful practice:

• It's going to be hot. Drink lots of water BEFORE practice and bring a water bottle to practice.

• Wear comfortable SNEAKERS. No crocs, sandals, flip-flops, etc. No shoes that have open toes or heels. 

• Musicians, you are responsible for printing out and bringing your own music. Please make sure you have all of the required music for halftime, pregame, warm-ups, and scales for wind players.

• Band council, please be there at 5:30pm for a brief meeting.

• Drumline is coming in at 5:00pm. Twirlers, I believe, will be there from 4 to 8:00pm. All other band members will be there from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Meet in the band room. Come in through the double doors by the flagpole. 

Remember, all rehearsals are mandatory for all members. If you cannot make it due to vacation or family function, please email me and let your section leader(s) know ahead of time. 

Looking ahead:

• Sunday, July 19 - FHSBOPO board meeting at 7:30pm

• Tuesday, July 21 - Band student and parent meet and greet at Freedom from 5 to 7pm. Food, games, and fun!

• Wednesday, July 22 - Summer Band practice, 4 to 8 for twirlers, 5 to 8 for drumline, 6 to 8 for all other band members.

• Saturday, July 25 - Band car wash at Unity Bank from 12:30 to 4:30pm

• Wednesday, July 29 - Summer Band practice, 4 to 8 for twirlers, 5 to 8 for drumline, 6 to 8 for all other band members.

• Thursday, July 30 - Summer Band practice, 4 to 8 for twirlers, 5 to 8 for drumline, 6 to 8 for all other band members.
