ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congratulations to everyone involved with the Spring musical for winning 9 Freddys including best overall show at the Freddy Awards last Thursday. Super job everyone!

Thank you to the drumline for performing at the Athletic Awards last Wednesday. 

We are down to our last 2 weeks of school and we have much going on all the way to the end. This week the fife and drum corps is performing at the Spring Garden's Spring concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. THose playing, please remember to bring your band uniforms to school. You will need to leave your 1st block class a little early to change because we need to leave at 9:00am. You start playing at 9:15. Plan to be out all of block 2 on those days.

The last FHSBOPO meeting is Wednesday night at 7:00pm. Officer elections will take place and we will present next year's music trip for consideration. Parents, please plan to attend.

This Friday and Saturday we are hosting Music in the Parks again and we need student help. We have plenty of help Saturday but as of this writing, only 1 person has signed up to help Saturday. We need you! If you plan to help, you must sign up on the sheet below. You cannot wait till Friday to sign up. I will be sending a list to the faculty on Wednesday. Parents, we could use your help as well if you are free. Please consider. 

Music in the Parks help assignments

Reminder that due to being off tomorrow for Memorial Day, Tuesday is an orchestra day. Pate choir student in orchestra, go to Pate choir on Tuesday and come to orchestra on Thursday. Because we are hosting MITP on Friday, we are changing the band/choir schedule slightly. Wednesday is a band day and concert choir student in band GO TO BAND on Wednesday. Those students will go to concert choir on Friday. Band members report to the auditorium on Friday. We will not be playing. 

Congratulations to the new band and orchestra council for 2026-2027! All student leadership positions have now been chosen. Thank you to everyone who went out for a position. If you have not completed the student information for for next year and you are planning to be in band or orchestra, please complete it ASAP

Don't forget anyone not returning to band next year, band uniform return is this week. Tuesday and Wednesday between 9 and 11am. Uniforms must be return drycleaned. 

Looking ahead:

• June 4 - Graduation and Blocks 1 and 2 underclass exams

  • 7:30am - Band members report to FHS, bus over to Stabler

  • 8:30am - graduation rehearsal begins

  • 9:00am - bus band to Freedom

  • 9:45am - Block 2 exam

  • 5:30pm - Band reports to Freedom in full uniform minus hat and gloves. Fife corps in full uniform. Bus over to Stabler

  • 6:30pm - Begin prelude music

  • 7:00pm - Commencement begins

  • 9:00pm (approx.) - Bus back to Freedom

• June 5 - Music in the Parks at FHS and Blocks 3 and 4 underclass exams

• June 6 - Music in the Parks at FHS
