We made it! Our last week of school! Thank you to everyone, students and parents, who helped with Music in the Parks this weekend. Your help is much appreciated. Reminder we will be hosting Music in the Parks one more time on Saturday. The following have signed up to help: Camryn Hasonich, Griffen Harnden, and KD DiGenova. We could still use more help please. You can get community service for helping Saturday. Friday's date has been cancelled.
Thursday is graduation. The band will bus over to Stabler at 7:30am for a rehearsal with the graduating class. They will be bussed back in time for their 2nd block finals. Anyone with a first block final should make arrangements with their first block teacher to take it at an alternate time, either the last class day on Wednesday, or the final exam make-up day. We've done this before in the past. Band members will then return to Freedom at 5:30pm to bus over to Stabler for the actual ceremony. Arrive half dressed in full uniform minus hats and gloves, except for fife and drum corps members who will need them. If you are not riding over with the band or returning with us after the ceremony, please email me so I know not to wait for you. The band will be bussed back to Freedom after commencement is done approx. 9:00pm.
Reminder, those not returning to band, including seniors, if you haven't returned your uniform yet, Mrs. Kashner will be at Freedom on Tuesday at 9:00am. Please make sure it's drycleaned.
As was mentioned at the FHSBOPO meeting last week, the band and orchestra is planning to take a cruise next year for our big Spring trip. The dates are April 18-25, 2026. The cost will be around $2000 approx. This is pending school board approval. Please start planning ahead for this, mark your calendars. More info and details will follow once we get board approval.
Looking ahead:
July 8,15,22,29 - Summer Band, 6:00 to 8:00pm
Have a great last week and good luck with finals!
