Sunday, Sept. 28 - Celtic Ensemble performs at Celtic Fest at 12:30pm at Heritage Hollow
First, let me thank the members of the fife and drum corps who played for the auditorium ribbon cutting last Thursday. They did a super job playing for current and past Freedom principals, board members, Dr. Silva and Dr. Leeson, and other dignitaries. The Chorale also did a great job singing the national anthem and alma mater for the event. Well done Pates! Don't forget to put in Helper Helper an hour of community service if you haven't done that yet.
Well done to the band at the game Friday night. It was definitely our best show yet! Please look at the video linked below to discuss what specifically was good and what we still need to work on.
This week is homecoming! The details for the game are listed above. Please pass the message to any Freedom band alumni if they'd like to come to the game and play in the stands with us, we'd be happy to bring an instrument if they need one. They should email me before Friday.
Also this week, we have our first pep rally, 4th block Friday, and our first parade. Details for the parade are also listed above. The parade is mandatory, not optional. Everyone must participate.
Wednesday is our first FHSBOPO meeting. 6:30pm is the executive board and the general meeting is at 7:00pm in the band room. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Celtic Ensemble will be performing this Sunday for Celtic Fest at 12:30pm at Heritage Hollow. Please come out to support them!
The uniform committee has informed me that many uniforms are looking wrinkled and dirty. Please take them to be dry-cleaned. Suggested drycleaners are listed in the monthly newsletter. Many ascots are also looking dirty. Those can be washed at home in the laundry. Please take care of these items. One warning will be given and if it's not taken care of, you will not perform on the field. We need everyone to look their best always.
Looking ahead:
The next football game next week against BECA is THURSDAY, Oct. 2nd at BASD Stadium. Please be sure to mark your calendars. We will be on the visiting side.
The combined bands rehearsal at Liberty will take place on Tuesday, October 21 at BASD Stadium from 6 to 8PM. The raindate will be Wednesday, October 22 during first block.
The FHS bonfire will be Wednesday, October 22. The band will be playing and all are required to attend. Report time is 6:30pm.
Have an amazing week everyone!
