About Me

I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I even stayed here for both my undergrad and graduate degrees. My Masters is in Early Childhood Education, the age level I truly love teaching. I have been lucky enough to have taught at Aquarian Charter School my entire professional teaching career! I spent my first 9 years teaching 1st grade, and then moved to Kindergarten. I am excited to continue in Kindergarten. I have wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher since high school. I attended alternative programs in both Elementary and High School. I even student taught in an Optional Program. It was meant to be for me to teach in an alternative program such as Aquarians'. 

In my free time I like to be crafty with beading, knitting, painting, card making, etc. I like to spend time outdoors in the summer hiking, visiting parks and the zoo, or just lounging in my hammock. The past few summers I have been gardening and it has been very rewarding. In the winter, I stay warm indoors and enjoy doing puzzles or watching movies. I love traveling whenever I get a chance.

September 2021 I became a mom, and I could not be more proud and happy about it. Vanderen has filled my life in a way I never even knew could exist... you are parents, you understand.
