Until further notice, iPads will not have passcodes for classroom iPads. However, students will need to log into their individual Apps like Dropbox or Google mail. This also means that they will need to LOG OFF before returning the iPAD to the cart.
ATTENTION!
TEACHERS:
(1) If you feel you MUST use a PASSCODE on a district-owned iPAD, please email me immediate with your device name and the PASSCODE. This will be locked away in your contract file. We have had teachers leave the district without removing their passcodes and this requires getting on the phone with a REAL person at Apple. HOURS of work that we are NOT excited about having to do.
(2) Starting with iOS 7, if you sign into iCloud and turn on “Find My iPad,” this results in an activation-lock on the device and you cannot factory restore it (without going through major hoops with Apple Support). So, either be sure to activation lock your iPads under the district-issued Apple ID, or be sure you sign out of iCloud and turn off “Find My iPad” before leaving the district. SOOOOO you need to reset your iPad to factory before you return it to the district. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
