Concert Procedures
Updated May 2024
What do I need to know about the concert?
The concert is Wednesday, May 15th @ 6 PM and 7 PM - there is no cost, and doors will be open at 5:30
We will have a BRIEF rehearsal after school on Tuesday, May 14th @ 2:20, which will be short if things go smoothly. I try to keep it 15 minutes. Please make other arrangements for transportation that day if your student rides the bus.
6 PM Concert is for COMBINED 7th GRADE (A1 & B7), 7th Grade Chorale (A4) and BELLA ARMONIA (B6). They will need to arrive at 5:45 PM, and are NOT required to stay for the 7 PM concert.
7 PM concert is for Eagle's Chorus (B8) and ENCORE (A3). They will need to arrive at 6:30 PM to prepare to sing the combined song at the end of the first concert
If a student is unable to attend and perform, they MUST have their parents email me to confirm. A make-up assignment will be posted on Canvas for students that are not able to attend. PLEASE consider making every effort possible to be at the concert. This is a HUGE part of your grade, and performing in the concert is SO MUCH easier than doing the make up work
**Students will be grading themselves for the concert based on 1) their behavior on AND off stage, 2) their efforts to perform to the best of their ability, 3) punctuality, 4) following the assigned dress standards for the concert, and 5) not having their cell phone with them on stage. This will require integrity, but it's a good way to learn how to self-evaluate and be honest about your performance.
What to wear?
Mixed Chorus, 7th Grade Mixed, 7 Grade Chorale, Eagle Chorus, Ladies' Choir, & Men's Choir
Our goal is to look professional and unified
When in doubt, show me a picture and ask my permission first
*** If finding the appropriate outfit for the concert is difficult, please consider
1) borrowing from a friend, family member, neighbor, etc. or
2) buying something that will work IF it is financially possible - check out thrift stores for affordable options
If you have EXHAUSTED these 2 options, come speak with me and we will work out an alternative.
