AΔK Month Overview
October is Alpha Delta Kappa Month. During this month we promote Alpha Delta Kappa with a variety of activities. It is an opportunity for us to increase awareness of AΔK in the schools and the wider community. During this month we remember our founders with a program and ceremony. This is a great opportunity for fraternal education for our members. Many chapters band together for a meeting during this month. Please check the international website for a wealth of ideas for celebrating our sorority during October.
At the conclusion of the month, please fill out the AΔK month report form which is on the website. It may be filled out electronically, or copied and sent in by postal mail. The due date is November 15. In addition to the state report, your chapter earns a Pearl for the Pearls of Achievement Award by reporting your Alpha Delta Kappa Month activity on the Annual Chapter Highlights Summary, Form H-114 sent in by your chapter secretary.

Fraternity Education
Fraternity Education encompasses all of AΔK. Areas to consider and visit include: history, policies and by laws, traditions, ceremonies, current publications like the Kappan, officer training, the goals and aspirations as reflected in the Mission Vision: educational excellence, altruism and world understanding.
Fraternity Education should be incorporated into every chapter meeting in some way, especially during October, our Founders’ Month. The International website has a variety of activities you may use. After you log in, search for Fraternity Education and click on activities.
Some suggestions for the chapter Fraternity Education chairmen are listed below.

World Understanding
One of the stated purposes of Alpha Delta Kappa is “to contribute to world understanding, goodwill and peace through an international fellowship of women educators united in the ideals of education.” To that end Nebraska ΑΔΚ encourages all chapters to participate in programs and activities that promote world understanding. The goal is to educate sisters about other countries or to explore other countries’ educational systems. The attached reporting form should be submitted as soon as an appropriate program has occurred. The postmark deadline for recognition at state convention is two weeks prior to the convention date.
