Gardens

Gardens:

We use the gardens every week, we go out to water them almost every day. At the beginning of the semester, we pick out what we want to plant (based on what's available due to the weather). We take care of the plants for the whole semester and then before winter break we harvest and we have a potluck. We are graded on our participation and how well we work together in our groups. The gardens help with skills like responsibleness collaboration.

Earth Worms

Earth worms increase the nutrient availability, help drain the water through the garden better, make room for plant roots, and make a stable soil structure which all tends to improve the gardens productivity.

Garden Tools: Shovel, Rake, Garden Hoe

We use these tools in our gardens for planting & beautification. They're useful for clearing rock, weeds, and dirt to ensure our area remains safe and presentable. We keep many of them in storage for group work.

Irrigation System

This is the irrigation system. The irrigation system in our gardens are important because us students and teachers aren't at school all the time to water our plants, so to have a system set in place to keep our plants healthy is vital to Ag!
