Students who are enrolled in a Career and Technical Education course may choose to participate in HIRE Education (on-the-job-training). This takes place when a student is enrolled in a Technology, Business or Marketing course and holds a job outside of school. In HIRE Education, students will have the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to their job.
After submitting the proper paper work (attached below) and fulfilling all responsibilities as outlined in the paperwork, students may receive .5 credit for 125 hours of work experience or 1 credit for 250 hours of work experience. Students may earn up to .5 credits per semester, one full credit per school year. In order to receive credit for work done, the Work Agreement must be submitted to Mrs. Medlock, the Hire Education coordinator.
Students may only receive work credit for work completed during the current school year or completed a CTE pathway in years prior. Please see Mrs. Medlock for details.
Once you fill out this form, send to Carrie Medlock or give to your business teacher. You will also need to submit 125 hours worth of completed work hours.
